Importing film charting data

Upload a CSV with one row per play. Column names can vary slightly: opponent/team, game, quarter, down, distance/to_go, formation, play, play_type/type, result/yards, field_position/yard_line, personnel, alignment, red_zone, notes. A numeric result is treated as gained yards. Play type is determined from the provided category: Run, Pass, RPO, Screen or Read Option. CSV files are added to the existing database; duplicate rows are not automatically detected. Include motion, play_action, drive and outcome columns for deeper analysis. Keep the original charting data as a backup.

To share without a backend: export team data as JSON and send it to another coach to import. This is a snapshot, not live syncing; importing the same snapshot repeatedly can duplicate entries. For a true staff-wide website, connect this interface to authenticated cloud storage and a database.

Yardage categories used here: Short 1–3 · Medium 4–6 · Long 7–10 · Longer 11+. The full play log can be filtered and searched, with tendency tables recalculated instantly.

Staff sharing: This prototype saves data in the current browser, not a shared server. A hosted deployment with accounts, staff roles, and a central database is needed for coaches to see and edit the same data live. Export/import currently supports transferring snapshots.
